I had the pleasure of meeting Adrian Hayes this month. He gave a very inspiring talk at EO (Entrepreneurs Org) about his fascinating achievements. The talk was called ‘Conquering your own Everest’.
I was inspired (or re-inspired) to:
- Set specific goals
- Find ways to achieve them
- and continuously challenge myself
It also put things into perspective about how we worry about mundane things in our everyday life, which must seem so worthless when you’re standing on the highest summit on this planet, gasping for oxygen.
For those who don’t know Adrian Hayes:
“Adrian Hayes holds a Guinness World record (2009) for reaching the Earth’s “3 Poles” – walking all the way to the North Pole, South Pole and summiting Mt Everest – in the shortest period of time in history (19 months and 3 days), becoming only the 15th person ever to achieve the feat.
He holds a second record, along with Canadian teammates Devon McDiarmid and Derek Crowe, for the longest unsupported snow-kiting expedition in Arctic history, the 2009, 3120km, vertical crossing of the Greenland ice cap.”
How’s that for impressive! Let’s see if I can get Adrian to come on my radio show DARE TO BE HEALTHY to inspire all of you too! Watch this space
